The Donora Tapes
forms taken in the home of champions
GonersThursday, Apr 24, 2008 12:31 PM Ron and Dave wander upon a place where musicians have been lost. It is a partial look at those who are dead, more specifically not breathing. These conversations take place while spontaneously playing records from the massive vault of vinyl. The Can takes off after Tim Condie mentions life in NYC and his job at Tower Records. Commentary includes the potential for a home with the likes of Nick Drake. Nick's first listening is recalled, a 1975 date under a pavilion at Palmer Park. Ron mentions Elvis' belt buckle though there is no evidence of a rodeo. Juice drops by prior to emotion that remains with the loss of John Lennon. Walcott rides off on the Autobahn but not before having been seen at the Evergreen Hotel and Carlow chapel. And then it goes as it happens to go on and on before fading away.
