Hockey: University of Alberta Pandas vs. LethbridgeSunday, Jul 13, 2008 9:27 AM 2007 broadcast done on the fly while in Edmonton. Bill Kolida brings the play-by-play, while Dave and Mo handle the color commentary. No preparation was done prior to the game. The Pandas would secure back-to-back national titles by taking out a variety of opponents in Ottawa a few weeks later. McGill, favored by the critics going into Ottawa, were dismantled by the Pandas (4-0) as they picked apart the defined "golden goalie" Charline Labonte. In the end, as some people looked for words to offset the McGill media hype going in, there was nothing more to say other than what was said on the ice. The Pandas out shot the Martlets 18-16. Taryn Barry's roof shot 40 seconds into the game was a clear statement that McGill never responded to or rebounded from, and it was one that proved devastating to the Martlets in the end.Listen |
